Celebrate Social Security’s 88th Birthday with AARP at our Get the Scoop on Social Security events! Stop by to meet AARP staff and volunteers and learn more about the importance of protecting and saving Social Security.

Connect with AARP at the event in your area to *receive a complimentary small soft-serve ice cream and ‘get the scoop’ on the latest information about the Social Security program. Hear about the important role New Yorkers can play in making sure they receive the social security payments they’ve earned - all while enjoying music, fun giveaways, and much more!

If Washington doesn’t take action in the next 10 years to preserve Social Security, your payments could be cut by 20 percent – an average reduction of $4,000 a year. This is your money, which you have earned through a lifetime of hard work, so come join AARP in the fight to protect it.

They are passionate to strengthen and preserve this benefit they have earned throughout their lifetime. 49% of New Yorkers 50+ rely on Social Security for at least half their income. Saving and protecting this program is vital to 3.68 Million New Yorkers.
