AARP New York: Empowering New Yorkers 50+ Every Day

AARP is the nation's largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering Americans 50 and older to choose how they live as they age.

AARP New York advocates for the 50 and older community across the Empire State. With more than 2.2 million members, we work to ensure that all New Yorkers can live with dignity, independence, and purpose — no matter their age.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers champion the issues that matter most to older adults, their families, and all New Yorkers — from safer streets and accessible healthcare to financial security. We’re committed to making New York a place where everyone can thrive.

On behalf of the over 7.4 million older adults across the state, AARP New York advocates for:

  • Lower utility costs
  • Support for family caregivers
  • Safer streets and livable communities
  • Retirement security and consumer protections
  • Opportunities to age in place with dignity and choice
