Submit Your Artwork to the 1st Art@50+ Art Exhibit!

November is National Family Caregivers Month and what better way to celebrate than an art exhibit? AARP, along with the Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA) and Bloomingdale’s Furniture Gallery, is holding their first Art@50+ exhibit this November to showcase the works of artists 50 years of age and older. While the submission fee is $25, AARP members can enter their art for free!

To celebrate the caregivers in our lives (especially during the month that’s dedicated to them), the theme of this exhibit is “caregiving.” Each artist (artists must be based in Long Island) is permitted to submit up to 10 pieces of two-dimensional artwork – such as photographs, paintings, drawings, etc – along with an artist biography and photo.

Once all the submissions are in (the deadline for submissions is September 30 ^th), a panel of professional artists will select 10 winners, who will then display a collective total of 50 works of art in the exhibit, which will be held from November 1 ^st to December 31st. One winner will even be featured as the “Artist of the Month” at http://artsaliveli.org/. However, all winners (and their families and guests) will be invited to a cocktail reception in early November to celebrate the start of the exhibit!
