There are many different styles and forms of Five Animal Play Qi Gong. The Tai Chi five animals involved in this practice are the Tiger, the Deer, the Bear, the Monkey, and the Crane. Each animal has two postures and forms, and in Five Animal Play Qi Gong, one learns to mimic the animals in order to understand and adopt their movements. Each animal represents one or more parts of the Five Elements in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Five Animal Play practice is something one can fall back on during times of stress, sadness, and joy, and it is wholeheartedly recommended for anyone who wants to achieve more relaxation, awareness, and balance in their life. Tiger Play represents wood, liver, gallbladder, eye, tendon, anger, spring. Deer Play represents water, kidney, bladder, ear, bones, fear, winter.
