With recently expanded eligibility guidelines, more New Yorkers than ever can qualify for a program that can help with out-of-pocket expenses like premiums, copays, coinsurance, and deductibles!
Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs) help people with limited income and resources pay their healthcare costs. Thousands of people in New York don’t know they are eligible for the Medicare Savings Program.
- Enrollment in a Medicare Savings Program (MSP) can help you save over $8,420 per year in health care costs.
- Qualifying New Yorkers who enroll will get help paying their Medicare Part B premiums and prescription drug costs; enrollment in the Medicare Savings Program will automatically enroll members in Extra Help, a prescription drug coverage plan that is estimated to be worth around $6,200 annually, or $516 a month.
- This year, the Medicare Savings Program is saving enrolled older adults and people with disabilities $185 per month, or $2,220 per year, in Part B premium costs.
New Yorkers 65+ may qualify for savings under this federal subsidy program based on 2025 incomes at or below:

- $2,446 per month and $29,352 annually for individuals
- $3,299 monthly and $39,588 annually for couples
