AARP North Carolina is proud to present Coffee and Conversation, a new series of informal and informative programs specifically for AARP members and people 50+ in Charlotte. Come grab a cup of joe and engage with your neighbors on a host of topics important to older North Carolinians.
Our first special blend of topics for this series includes discussions on health and our community. We will chat about how the new health care law can work better for you, changes to Medicare and how we can make neighborhoods in Charlotte more age-friendly.These programs are free of charge but pre-registration is requested. "The Affordable Care Act and Medicare: How the ACA Affects Older North Carolinians"
This presentation focuses on how the ACA affects the Medicare program, including the issues of benefit changes, prescription drug coverage, access to doctors and services, Medicare Advantage and long term care.

"Get Around: How age friendly and 'livable' is your home and community?"
Is your home or community “age-friendly”? This fun, interactive workshop introduces people to the concepts of livable communities and aging in place. Using multi-media, Get Around helps people of all ages understand features of a “livable” community and explore local options to make the home, street and community more healthy and age-friendly.
