The AARP North Carolina Spring Nutrition & Cooking Series is for everyone who wants to place their nutrition as a top priority, learn more about foods that make spring meals fun, and find inspiration for cooking with a healthy twist.

According the Global Council on Brain Health and AARP's Staying Sharp eating well is one of the six pillars of brain health that helps you take control of your brain health.

Join us for three meal occasion topics that will provide you with practical information and flavorful ideas to lure you into the kitchen! Cindy Silver is a local NC registered dietitian who will bring us into her kitchen for sessions that feature a variety of healthier dishes to make your spring special!

These virtual cooking courses are FREE, but registration is required.

April 17, 2023: A Special Spring Brunch: Asparagus & Spring Greens Frittata
Learn how easy it is to make a frittata in the oven and how you can give it a spring flavor with asparagus and leafy greens. On the side will be mixed fruit including spring strawberries.

April 24, 2023: A Special Spring Teatime: Cucumber Sandwiches & No-Bake Energy Bites
Discover what makes teatime nibbles fun to make and eat. A cucumber sandwich is a teatime classic. Then, for a more modern twist, learn how to make a sweet and yummy Energy Bite snack.

May 1, 2023: A Special Spring Picnic: Easy Homemade Chicken Salad & Lemonade
Enjoy learning how to make chicken salad 2 ways, with healthy nutrition in mind. On the side will be a glass of homemade and less sugary lemonade.
