AARP Eye Center
Approximately 92% of older adults have at least one chronic disease, and 77% have at least two. With earlier detection and prevention, North Carolinians can stay healthier and save on long-term health care costs. A program in the Triad is taking aim at chronic disease management.
North Carolina AT&T’s new Center for Outreach in Alzheimer’s, Aging and Community Health will make a difference when it comes to improving health outcomes in the region. From education and awareness to family and community empowerment, the Center will provide information and resources for family caregivers.
On Real Life, you’ll hear from the Centers’ Principal investigator Goldie S. Byrd, NC AT&T’s Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. You will also hear from AARP Senior Vice President for Multicultural Markets Edna Kaye Williams who shares her own personal experiences as a caregiver. Williams was also part of the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new COAACH Center in Greensboro.
Listen to the program here or on your local Real Life radio station.
