With Multicultural outreach serving as a vital component of AARP efforts to deliver its programs and services, AARP North Carolina is recognizing the organizations best serving the needs of minority populations in the state.

At a special awards ceremony in Durham on October 11, AARP honored:

The Latino Migration Project, an organization based in Chapel Hill that provides research and educational expertise on Latin American immigration and integration;

Triangle Interfaith Alliance – a Raleigh-based organization for people of diverse faiths committed to building and encouraging interfaith relationships and communities of collaboration, care and compassion;

AMEXCAN –a community organization in Eastern North Carolina that addresses the needs of Latinos and minorities in North Carolina;

Southeast Raleigh Assembly, Inc. – a flagship nonprofit organization that facilitates community capacity building through economic development, sustainability and individual citizen empowerment.
