RALEIGH -- This week, six bi-partisan NC Members of Congress publicly opposed the American Health Care Act, a House proposal, that if passed, could result in older adults paying up to $8,400 a year in added insurance premiums.
Representatives Adams, Budd, Butterfield, Jones, Meadows, and Price all oppose the plan.
AARP members are urging Representatives Pittenger, Hudson, Holding, Walker, McHenry, Rouzer and Foxx, to stop supporting the "age tax" and higher insurance premiums, and join the rest of the NC delegation to publicly oppose a plan that's a bad deal for older adults and a bad deal for North Carolina.
AARP is currently running radio spots in Western NC, hoping that Patrick McHenry responds to the needs of his constituency where 91 percent of District residents receive subsidized health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. AHCA_Radio_Ad
