Bismarck and Fargo have both been named a Top 10 city in a new Livability Index developed by AARP. The study identified the most livable places in the country for people 50-plus.
AARP North Dakota presented a wrap-up report on the 2015 North Dakota Legislature in Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, Bismarck, Dickinson and Williston in mid-May.

In addition to the 12 percent state paid credit that all North Dakotans receive, there are a couple of property tax credits for which you may be eligible. The Homestead Tax Credit is for senior citizens and disabled individuals of any age. The Disabled Veterans Tax Credit is for disabled veterans of the United States armed forces.

More North Dakotans 65 and older and homeowners of any age with a disability are now eligible for the Homestead Property Tax Credit because of a major expansion approved by the 2013 North Dakota Legislature.
