Operation Protect Veterans

Operation-Protect-Veterans-bug

The AARP Fraud Watch Network is working with the US Postal Inspection Service to raise awareness of common scams that target America’s military veterans.

We need you to help protect military veterans. Watch for suspicious emails, phone calls, or mailings targeting military veterans and report them to  protectveterans@aarp.org or 1-855-800-9023. You can take a picture with your phone or tablet and email it to us, or call our toll-free number and leave us detailed information about the solicitation. You don’t need to have absolute proof that an offer is fraud to report it.

We’ll collect people’s reports, and produce a report based on the findings along with some additional educational materials for veterans in November. We’re really excited about this campaign and we hope you’ll keep your eyes and ears open for scams targeting veterans, and report them to us as you come across them.  For more information, check out our FWN Operation Protect Veterans brochure
