Positive Caregiving: Navigating the Course of Dementia

                                            Dementia affects memory, behavior and everyday living. The stress that caregivers and families experience can feel overwhelming. But there are solutions and answers.

 The M E Cox Center in Virginia Beach will present an interactive workshop for caregivers on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.  Participants will learn positive strategies and methods for helping people with dementia. 

 This interactive workshop led by nationally known dementia care expert Teepa Snow, MS/OTR/L, will help caregivers learn:

  • Six Critical Factors for Optimizing Caregiver Interactions
  • Techniques for Successful Communication
  • Productive Activities that Promote a Balanced Day

 In addition, over 40 exhibitors will showcase dementia resources available in the region.

 The workshop registration cost is $35.00, including continental breakfast, lunch and workshop materials. Pre-registration is required.
