We'll never stop fighting to protect this earned benefit, but Congress must act to make sure Social Security can pay the full benefits Americans have earned. In Idaho, there are more than 370,000 Social Security recipients who depend on this program. The following list provides an overview of the commonly discussed changes Congress is expected to consider as part of a larger package.

Gov. Maura Healey signed the Affordable Homes Act into law Tuesday, August 6. A key provision in the legislation allows for Accessory Dwelling Units to be built 'by right'. AARP has been fighting for that provision for months. ADUs are a family-friendly, community-creating type of housing the nation needs more of.
Our volunteers are committed to the work we do for the Granite State’s 50-plus population and we can’t thank them enough. Simply put, we could not do everything we do without their help and dedication that manifests in ways that bring tangible impact to our 215,000 members throughout the Granite State!

The Federal Trade Commission reported over $10 billion in losses due to fraud and identity theft last year. AARP is committed to combating fraud by educating people about current trends and consumer protections. We recently hosted a telephone town hall that reached people in their homes statewide.
