Join AARP Texas as we proudly celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! This annual observance is a time to recognize and honor the rich histories, vibrant cultures, and countless contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities whose roots trace back to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Throughout the month, AARP Texas will host a dynamic lineup of events and activities across the state—highlighting the diversity, resilience, and cultural pride that shape our Hispanic heritage here in Texas.

Launched in 2015, the AARP Livability Index platform scores livability by using more than 50 national data sources, such as the U.S. Census Bureau American Communities Survey, across seven categories: housing, neighborhood, transportation, environment, health, engagement, and opportunity.

RALEIGH -- Mary Bethel of Fuquay Varina has been selected by AARP, the nonprofit organization for people 50 and older, to receive the 2025 AARP North Carolina Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award for community service. The award was formally presented to Bethel at a ceremony in Raleigh this week.
