Throughout 2024, AARP DC continued to advocate for policies to empower District residents to improve their lives and choose where and how they live as they age. AARP DC has a long history of supporting older District residents who want to live independently as they age. New Yorkers age 50 and over have the experience, expertise, and commitment to make our state shine again, but this cohort that contributes so much to every community faces its own unique challenges that must be addressed. With its over 2.2 million members statewide, AARP New York has released the 2025 "AARP New York State Blueprint For Action” and is calling on the Hochul administration and state lawmakers to develop clear plans to address ageism and make New York State more age-friendly so New Yorkers 50 and over can safely, affordably, and happily grow older here.
