It’s open enrollment season, which also means it’s Medicare fraud season. Eligible beneficiaries have until December 7th to shop for the best deal for their health care dollar. Unfortunately, some of the deals offered won’t be deals at all.
Castleberry is the franchise owner for the UPS Store in Gillette. Earlier this year a woman came into Castleberry’s UPS store and asked to ship what she said was a book. The woman then asked for $5,000 in insurance to ship what she said was a book.

We need state legislators to step up to better protect us. AARP Iowa is advocating for common sense legislation that would require retailers selling gift cards to post a notice informing consumers about what gift card scams are and who to contact if they suspect a scam.
