2024 Caregiver Day at the Capitol

A year ago, in June of 2023, the AARP Washington state office welcomed a new intern, Jaelyn Sotelo. We are now coming to the end of her time with us as an intern, and, looking back, we truly don't know how we did things without her. She has been instrumental in coordinating volunteer activities, making sure our community events hit all the high points and helping us full-timers keep track of the many things that make up a "day-in-the-life" of AARP outreach.

Meet Sondra Morton, a dedicated volunteer from Jacksonville, Florida, whose life story is woven with threads of compassion and service.

Betty Gambino’s story began in the heart of New York City's vibrant Bronx borough where she lived until she moved to suburban Long Island to raise her four children. In 1997, Betty and her family relocated to Florida, where she worked for American Express. Upon her retirement, Betty found her true calling – a dedication to service and advocacy that would define her path for years to come.

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month and we couldn't be more grateful to those using their time, expertise, and passion to enrich the lives of older adults in North Dakota.
