Each day too many of Wisconsin's older adults are threatened by hunger.
Nearly one-third of Wisconsinites age 65+ rely on Social Security as their only source of income. This means every extra expense can have a ripple effect, forcing older adults to have to choose between paying the bills or eating their next meal.
Now more than ever we must seek out opportunities to help our friends and neighbors - no matter their age - keep food on the table. That's why on Saturday, May 10, AARP and the AARP Foundation are joining the National Association of Letter Carriers and the U.S. Postal Service’s 22 nd annual food drive to help “Stamp Out Hunger.”
Stamp Out Hunger is the largest single-day food drive in the nation and one of the easiest ways to make a difference in your community.
This Saturday, simply leave a bag of non-perishable food near your mailbox for letter carriers to collect. With the help of volunteers, they will deliver these donations local food banks and pantries.
Please help spread the word about the #2014FoodDrive and together we can make a huge difference!
