Help Recognize Impactful Journalism

Senior man reading newspaper on park bench, Boston, Massachusetts

AARP is seeking nominations to honor reporters whose work promotes awareness and understanding of older Texans and the issues that affect them.

Last year, AARP recognized Lubbock-based reporter Jayme Lozano Carver of The Texas Tribune for her coverage of rural Texas hospital closures, community water system failures, health care needs in West Texas and broadband expansion.

Work by both journalism professionals and students—including those working with the written word, broadcast news, photojournalism and other forms of storytelling—will be considered. AARP will select another recipient by year’s end. To nominate a journalist, email aarptx@aarp.org.
