Cookbook coauthors Vernita Harris and Beatrice Moore will teach you how to whip up peachy prosciutto and brie quesadillas with a honey-lime dipping sauce. Pair them with spicy cucumber salad and a tasty raspberry or banana smoothie. The class begins at noon and lasts about one hour.

With Harris based in the Bahamas and Moore in Texas, the longtime friends draw on their different culinary experiences to create their dishes.

Brunch, Lunch and Munch classes are held on the third Tuesday of each month and are open to everyone, not just AARP members. Previous recipes have included curry chicken salad, watermelon pizzazz salad, stuffed spaghetti squash and peach mango punch.

To register for the upcoming class, go to events.aarp.org/T-620-Smoothie. The site includes the ingredients list so participants can cook along with the instructors.

Some presentations can be viewed at youtube.com/c/aarptexas. To learn more about other virtual and in-person events in Houston, go to aarp.org/houston.
