NORFOLK_ Are you at a point in your life where you’re asking, “What’s next?” Perhaps you’re a caregiver facing challenges caring for a loved one. If you identify with any of these scenarios, chances are you need help. Join AARP Virginia for the Meet, Learn, Discover Series at the Pretlow Library in Norfolk to learn about tips and tools that can help you overcome the challenges facing older Americans.
Speakers will be on hand to discuss a range of topics and host informational workshops. The dates and topics are as follows:
September 16: “Fraud Watch”
We’ll share an inside look at how scammers think, how to safeguard against identity theft and fraud, first-hand accounts from victims, and what to do if you or someone you know has been a victim.

October 21: “Financial Freedom Workshop”
This free interactive financial workshop is designed to empower and educate individuals with tools, strategies and resources to help them achieve short and long-term financial security.

November 18: “Prepare to Care”
AARP’s Prepare to Care workshop provides you with information and resources to help you to take better care of the ones you love. In this workshop, participants will learn five steps every caregiver should take: How to Start the Conversation; Forming a Team; Making a Family Plan; Finding Support; and the Importance of Caring for Yourself.
