AARP SEVA volunteers are putting one foot forward with the addition of two new AARP Walking Groups in the region. Both groups were inspired by the area's first Walking Group in Chesapeake, led by Sharon Gooden-Harrell.

The Peninsula commenced their Walking Group in February at the Patrick Henry Mall in Newport News and Virginia Beach started theirs at the Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach. Walks with both groups in their perspective indoor locations last until the end of March and will move to the outdoors once the weather gets warmer in the area.

The Peninsula group meets up every Monday morning from 8:30AM until and Virginia Beach meets every Wednesday from 9:00AM until.

Everyone is welcome to walk at their own pace for as little or as much of the routes they choose, with varying mileage at each spot. The Walking Groups are always free and open to all ages. AARP membership is not required to join in on the fun. What better way to burn calories and make new friends! Achieve that New Year's resolution to be more active by participating in the Walking Groups! It's a MOVEment!
