September is right around the corner, which means Stand Down at the Beach is less than a month away! The event is set for Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 held in the U.S. Army Reserve building at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Stand Down is an event to provide services to homeless Veterans and Veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits counseling and referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as housing, employment and substance abuse treatment.
Interested in getting involved? There is still time to sign up to volunteer on Thursday, Sept. 18 or Friday, Sept. 19. Volunteers will help with event set up and clean up, greet guests and help on the food line.
