Wednesday, Sept. 4 is Voter Registration Deadline for Some Upcoming State Primaries, Elections

Residents in certain voting districts in Boston and other cities and towns across the state have state primaries and special elections coming up, and voters should know that there are related voter registration deadlines for each of these events.

The upcoming primaries and elections include races for the 12th Suffolk District state representative; Boston mayor, at-large city council member, and district city councillor; and a congressperson for Congressional District 5.

AARP Massachusetts is providing the following information to help voters exercise their right to vote. Following are details about the upcoming races:

• On Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, there is the Special State Election for 12th Suffolk District for state representative. This includes Milton, Precincts 1, 2; Dorchester Ward 16, Precincts 8, 11; Dorchester Ward 17, Precinct 4; Mattapan Ward 17, Precincts 10-14; and Hyde Park Ward 18, Precincts 4, 10-14).

•  On Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, there is the Boston Preliminary Municipal Election for mayor, city council member at-large, and district city councilor.

• On Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 there is the Boston Municipal Election for mayor, city council member at-large, and district city councilor.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, there is the Boston Preliminary Election for Congressional District 5. This includes Congressional District 5 includes the following communities: MIDDLESEX COUNTY: Arlington; Ashland; Belmont; Cambridge: Ward 3, Precinct 2A; Ward 4, Precincts 2, 3; Wards 6, 7, 8, 9; and Ward 10, Precincts 1, 2; Framingham; Holliston; Lexington; Lincoln; Malden; Medford; Melrose; Natick; Sherborn; Stoneham; Sudbury: Precincts 1A, 2, 3, 4, 5; Waltham; Watertown; Wayland; Weston; Winchester; Woburn; SUFFOLK COUNTY: Revere; Winthrop; and WORCESTER COUNTY: Southborough.

• On Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, there is the Special Election for Congressional District 5.

 

For each of these aforementioned elections, following are the voter registration deadlines:

 

• Voter registration deadline: Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, by 8 p.m.

• Voter registration deadline:  Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, by 8 p.m.

• Voter registration deadline: Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, by 8 p.m.

• Voter registration deadline: Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, by 8 p.m.
