Trained AARP speakers available free of charge
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is looking to expand its team of volunteers for the upcoming tax season by recruiting interested individuals. Tax-Aide is an AARP Foundation program that offers free tax filing help for those who need it most, especially adults 50 and older, during the tax season.
Join us for AARP Washington's Day in Olympia on February 14th. We'll meet in the Columbia Room on the ground floor of the Capitol for a discussion of the issues of concern to Washingtonians age 50+ and talk about how to take action in the Legislative session. Hear from legislators, AARP staff and volunteers, and special guests. You'll also have an opportunity to meet with your state lawmakers.
AARP is teaming up with BECU to help fight financial fraud through a free shredding event. On Saturday, October 22nd, members can safely dispose of their sensitive personal paperwork at three BECU locations in Tukwila, Federal Way and Everett.
A new state law backed by AARP Washington aims to improve communication between hospitals and family caregivers and to ease patients’ transitions back home.
Seattle Parks Lifelong Recreation is partnering with AARP to present one time programs that are a chance for you to try something new! Have you always wanted to ride a bike to the winery, try out sailing, learn to rock climb? Here is your opportunity to experience activities in an easy, introductory and fun group setting. Grab a friend to sign up with you, or come alone and meet some new friends! Watch for “Explore U” offerings each quarter, and if you have some ideas, please let us know!
More than 800,000 Washingtonians care for older parents, spouses or loved ones, helping them to live independently in their own homes. These family caregivers have a huge responsibility, and on June 9, a new law took effect that will make life a little bit easier for them.
