This November, Governor Evers has officially proclaimed it National Family Caregivers Month in Wisconsin to recognize the contributions, commitment, and sacrifices made by America’s 63 million family caregivers every single day.
We know how impactful $1,000 can be. This is our way of extending some seed money to get these projects off the ground. Next deadline: September 27, 2025.

The Speaker's Task Force on Elder Services has held three meetings, and cryptocurrency kiosks were discussed at all of them.
We recently held a virtual press conference with Senator Tammy Baldwin that highlighted the need for Congress to lower prescription drug prices. During the event we delivered to the Senator a petition signed by 126,156 Wisconsinites who are calling for Congress to act now and stop unfair drug prices.
We are thrilled to announce that a proposal submitted by the Village of Greendale Health Department to fund activities at two upcoming public crafting sessions and a third session at a senior living facility in Greendale has received an AARP Wisconsin “Small Dollar, Big Impact” grant.
Last month we welcomed the City of Wauwatosa into the AARP Age-Friendly Network, which is the seventh municipality in Wisconsin to earn the designation, joining Sheboygan, Greendale, Shorewood, La Crosse, Madison, and Oshkosh.
Wisconsin’s nearly 600,000 unpaid family caregivers – a group that we refer to as the state’s unsung heroes for giving up so much of their own time and money to help loved ones remain in their own homes as long as possible – will receive much-needed support if state legislators get behind the governor’s plan to create a $500 family caregiver tax credit.
AARP Wisconsin is seeking volunteers to support its nonpartisan election outreach efforts around issues important to older adults and voter turnout.
After each episode of “Thursdays With AARP Wisconsin” we will include an audio link to the half hour show along with the topic for the show and the guests who were interviewed.
Small Dollar, Big Impact grants are exactly what the name describes – simple, short-term, low-cost solutions that could have remarkable impacts on the shaping of neighborhoods and cities. Take a look back at the recipients of the SDBI grant from 2021.
AARP Wisconsin is helping lead a new coalition of government and social service agencies—the Coalition to End Social Isolation and Loneliness. The group will identify root causes of these conditions among older adults and people with disabilities and advocate for solutions.
Join our volunteer team to advocate for legislation that would support family caregivers, bring down prescription drug prices, help people save for retirement, and protect vulnerable populations.
AARP Wisconsin, along with 211/United Way of Wisconsin, is offering a new service to provide support to caregivers over the phone.
