After two years of debate and passage of multiple bills offering Wyoming residents property tax relief, AARP Wyoming’s Government Relations Team (GRT) will host a meeting looking back on the impacts of this legislation at noon on Thursday, Sept. 18 in Cheyenne.

In Wyoming approximately 74,000 family caregivers provided an estimated 62 million hours of care — worth a staggering $980 million — to their parents, spouses, partners, and friends in 2017, according to state data available in the latest report of AARP’s Valuing the Invaluable series. The complexity of family caregiving increases as medical and nursing tasks continue to enter the home, and family demographics change amidst an aging population.
Rawlins Senior residents are encouraged to come to the Rawlins Senior Center in Rawlins, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. to receive a free one-on-one tutoring session on their cell phones and other mobile devices. The training, called Senior High Tech, is a collaboration between AARP Wyoming and S.O.S. (Succor/Serve Our Seniors) which is a joint effort of the Rawlins Senior Center and Wyoming Congressional Award. National Honor Society, FBLA or other groups may also be involved.
