The six pillars of brain health include: being social, engaging your brain, managing stress, ongoing exercise, restorative sleep, and eating right. AARP Wyoming has made brain health education a priority. Each week we offer a robust series of online classes held via zoom that are free and open to the public. Anyone of any age can join. Stay a Step Ahead of Scammers By Securely Shredding Documents, with AARP WY's upcoming shredding event happening in Casper from 9 a.m. to noon, on June 28.
Communities across the nation are taking steps to become better places to live and age, according to data analyzed from the newly updated AARP Livability Index.
The first meeting of the Wyoming Retirement Security Task Force will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 21 in the State AARP offices at 2020 Carey Ave, Mezzanine Level. The committee will meet three or four times over the interim and their meetings are open to the public.
AARP Wyoming will offer a free screening of the movie, “The Intern,” at 7 p.m. on June 5, at The Studio City Cinema on east second street in Casper.

A new task force will study why many Wyoming employers find it difficult to offer their workers a way to save for retirement.
CHEYENNE - The second listening session for the AARP Age-Friendly Laramie Initiative will take place on Thursday, May 31 from 6-8 p.m. at The Lincoln Community Center, 365 West Grand Avenue in Laramie. All residents who have interest in making Laramie a better place to live and age are invited to attend.
On the morning of April 15, a group of 10 student council members from Lingle-Fort Laramie, a high school of less than 100 students roughly 20 miles from the Nebraska border, walked six blocks to have lunch with a group of 40 clients at the Lingle Friendship Center.
CHEYENNE - AARP Wyoming State President, Kate Sarosy of Casper, will offer a Disrupt Aging presentation at the Torrington Friendship Center on June 14 starting at 10 a.m. The Friendship Center is located at 216 East 19th Avenue in Torrington.
CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Center on Aging (WYCOA) and Wyoming’s chapter of The Alzheimer’s Association offer a webinar series for caregivers, friends, and family of dementia patients. The webinars may be seen online, or at a viewing site around the state, including the AARP State Office in Cheyenne.
CHEYENNE - AARP Wyoming is seeking nominations for the organization’s most prestigious volunteer award, the Andrus Award.
