AARP to Release New Energy Survey of Connecticut Voters Age 50+

Data Captures Opinions of Connecticut Voters Age 50+ on Energy Auction, Smart Meters and More

(Hartford, CT) -- On Thursday, April 11, 2013, AARP will release the results of a recent survey that gauges the opinions of Connecticut voters age 50 and older on several electric utility proposals being considered by state lawmakers, including a controversial “energy auction” proposal which would sell the rights to provide electric service to nearly 800,000 current CL&P and UI customers and the mandatory use of “smart” meters.  AARP State Advocacy Director, John Erlingheuser, will be available in person and via phone on Thursday to answer reporter questions about the survey results and AARP’s legislative advocacy efforts.

Survey results will be posted on the AARP Connecticut website ( www.aarp.org/ct ) and Facebook page ( www.fb.com/AARPCT ) at 6AM on Thursday.
