Volunteering

Meet our volunteers and find opportunities to get involved with our outreach and community service programs.
"When you volunteer with AARP you know you are making a difference," said AARP Arkansas Executive Council Member and three-year volunteer Willa Black Sanders, MPA. "It matters. And there is so much work to do."
“I’ve always been interested in helping out with issues for the aging,” said AARP Arkansas Volunteer Lead for Advocacy Charlie Wagener. “Volunteering for AARP enables me to work on a variety of issues—financial security, health care, you name it. It’s an effective way to give back to my community.”
AARP Arkansas invites you to join our growing team of volunteer advocates. You can help ensure that our voices are heard at the local, state and national level on important issues like Social Security, Medicare, utilities, health care and caregiving.

The year was 1992. Unforgiven won the Oscar for Best Picture, the Chicago Bulls won the NBA Championship and 60 Minutes was the top-rated TV program. It was also the year that Frank Gardner took his first of two Driver Safety classroom courses.
AARP Arkansas is looking for experienced public speakers to help facilitate some of our programs and make presentations.
AARP Arkansas’ Community Outreach efforts depend on dedicated volunteers who help people turn their goals and dreams into real possibilities; strengthen communities; and fight for the issues that matter–healthcare, employment security and retirement planning.

The Rally, designed to spotlight and honor the contributions of the Arkansas State Ombudsman Program, featured remarks from AARP Arkansas State Director Maria Reynolds-Diaz; AANHR President Martha Deaver; Kathie Gately, Arkansas State Ombudsman; and Dr. David Montague, Director of the Senior Justice Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
The AARP Driver Safety Program is adding volunteers and new curriculum to better serve our members and community. With that in mind, we want to introduce the volunteer coordinator who’s making driver safety his mission in Central Arkansas: Steven Gregory.
