Iowa’s primary elections will be Tuesday, June 5, and every statewide office is up for grabs, with contested primaries in each race.

AARP Kentucky is encouraging members to vote in the primary elections on Tuesday, May 22, and reminding them to carry identification, in case it is needed. Kentucky law requires poll workers to identify voters either by personal acquaintance or with a document such as a driver’s license, Social Security card, credit card or other form of identification.

AARP New Mexico is encouraging citizens to vote in the June 5 primary elections.

AARP Nebraska has trained a group of volunteers to lead Prepare to Care workshops across the state. The goal is to ease the burden on family caregivers as they help their aging parents, spouses or other loved ones continue to live at home.

As the election season heats up, AARP staff and volunteers are keeping candidates informed about issues important to Kansans 50-plus. They are urging federal candidates to protect Medicare and Social Security. And they are asking candidates for state offices to strengthen long-term care services and to keep utilities affordable.

It’s home improvement season, and to help members age in place, AARP South Dakota is offering information on how to make a home safe and comfortable at any age.

The Magnolia State is home to nearly 200,000 veterans, and AARP Mississippi is committed to providing support for them.

Road safety involves more than repairing potholes. It’s about designing safe, accessible streets to accommodate all kinds of travelers—pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and people with disabilities, as well as motorists.
