Austin Public Health, the city’s primary public health agency, released its new Long-Term Care Facility Dashboard. The tool displays an array of statistics, including the total number of cases and deaths associated with long-term care facilities, a splash of colorful graphs that show the cases for staff and residents by symptom onset date, demographic breakdowns of staff and resident cases, and a list of facility names in the Austin-area with the numbers of COVID-19 cases in each of those facilities.
We applaud Governor Murphy for enacting a package of bills today to reform long-term care facilities. These bills, the first of a larger package of legislative reforms making their way through the Legislature, make significant and necessary improvements to protect residents and staff at New Jersey nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
Since the launch of our Graduated Income Tax Amendment campaign, I have heard from Illinoisans all across the state. While we’ve heard from many who wholeheartedly support the graduated income tax ballot initiative because they know it will protect their retirement income from being taxed, I’m deeply concerned about the folks that have been fed misinformation and are afraid of what the ballot initiative will do.
