According to an AARP survey, 61% of older adults are worried they will not have enough money to support themselves in retirement, and 20% of older adults have no retirement savings at all.

AARP New Mexico invites local eligible nonprofit organizations and government agencies to apply for the 2026 AARP Community Challenge grant program, now through Tuesday, March 4, 2026, at 3 p.m. Mountain. AARP Community Challenge grants fund quick-action projects that help communities become more livable by improving public places, transportation, housing, digital connections, and more.

In the past, scammers preferred using gift cards, bank transfers, and payment apps to swindle money from their victims. But scammers have had to adapt as awareness and protections have increased among consumers, law enforcement, and businesses. Their latest tactic involves directing victims to pay at a “crypto ATM,” a new and less familiar method.
