There is no question that our lives are radically changing on account of COVID-19. Many of us may need different kinds of information and services than we needed before. We may also have new opportunities to learn and grow. While the mission of Senior Access Points of Larimer County has always been to connect older adults and caregivers with aging-related resources (LarimerSeniors.org), it has become even more important that community residents know about the many services and opportunities available to them during these complex times. Here are a few resources available to you through the community partners that make up Senior Access Points:
On Friday, May 8, the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing launched ConnectToCareJobs.com, a new website to help combat health care workforce shortages in Colorado, during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) public health emergency and beyond. Focused entirely on health care, ConnectToCareJobs.com quickly connects residential care facilities and providers with health care professionals seeking employment. ConnectToCareJobs.com allows health care providers to select open positions they are hiring for and be matched with job seekers that fit their hiring needs. Job seekers can create a profile identifying the position they are interested in, the distance they are willing to travel for the position, and other professional skills and experience. AARP Colorado’s Volunteer Advocates Congressional Liaison team took the lead in AARP’s national Virtual Lobby Day, which to date has generated more than 260 meetings with Members of Congress and/or key members of their legislative staffs in Washington D.C. and throughout the country.
