Social Security provides older Americans an important source of reliable income during retirement. This is especially true for African Americans, Hispanics and women, who often lack access to income from pensions or savings and rely more heavily on Social Security.

AARPCO asked candidates for Colorado treasurer how they would help reverse the trend of under-saving for retirement and work to provide essential services to older adults and their families. Did you know there is a state agency representing your interests in electricity and natural gas utility matters before the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (CPUC)?

The Colorado Public Utilities Commission upheld the recommended decision of Administrative Law Judge Conor Farley in the Xcel gas rate case, which lowers what the company, also known as Public Service Company of Colorado, can bill consumers for natural gas.
