AARP Connecticut submitted comments to the Connecticut Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA) regarding its proposed final decision in the docket (Docket No. 23-11-02) of Southern Connecticut Gas Company’s (SCGC) request to amend its natural gas rate schedules.

AARP Connecticut is cooking up a summer special called “Tennis Two Ways” for this year’s Connecticut Open Presented by United Technologies Women’s Tennis Association event at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale in New Haven.
For the past seven years, Encore!Hartford has provided Hartford area Connecticut professionals age 50 and older with support in transitioning from a corporate career to one in the nonprofit sector. Now, The University of Connecticut Nonprofit Leadership Program , in partnership with Fairfield County nonprofit partners, has launched Encore!Fairfield County, creating an opportunity for more southern Connecticut residents to participate in the innovative program. Encore!Fairfield County is modeled after Encore!Hartford, which has an impressive track record. A five-year assessment of the program in 2015 revealed 91% of participants finding employment (70% full-time), and 73% of those employed landing in the nonprofit sector.
The campaign season is well under way, and AARP wants candidates to tell voters how they would update Social Security for the 21st century and keep the promise for future generations.
