For the past seven years, Encore!Hartford has provided Hartford area Connecticut professionals age 50 and older with support in transitioning from a corporate career to one in the nonprofit sector. Now, The University of Connecticut Nonprofit Leadership Program , in partnership with Fairfield County nonprofit partners, has launched Encore!Fairfield County, creating an opportunity for more southern Connecticut residents to participate in the innovative program. Encore!Fairfield County is modeled after Encore!Hartford, which has an impressive track record. A five-year assessment of the program in 2015 revealed 91% of participants finding employment (70% full-time), and 73% of those employed landing in the nonprofit sector.

Sometimes life takes you in a different direction than where you thought you’d go. But it’s never too late to make a change. Our free Life Reimagined event at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) on Wednesday, June 29, will give you the tools and guidance needed to dust off a few dreams, and explore and discover your “What’s Next!”

AARP Connecticut will donate $3000 on behalf of the Andrus recipient to an eligible non-profit organization of their choosing

AARP Connecticut staff and volunteers were in the community at two fantastic and meaningful events in Hartford on Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5. Attendees at both events had an opportunity to learn more about AARP and the nationwide Take a Stand initiative asking Federal office candidates to lay out their plan to update Social Security so it’s financially sound with adequate benefits.

Plan roll out begins in 2017 and will be fully operational by 2018

AARP Connecticut provides members with terrific year-round opportunities to save money and connect them with people and places in their community while supporting local, nonprofit educational and cultural venues.

AARP Connecticut hosts numerous events across a wide variety of topics in communities throughout the state every month. The events are open to the public, and while some require registration, others do not.
