AARP Eye Center
AARP Wyoming is partnering with the U.S. Small Business Administration to offer a local mentor workshop on starting a small business. The workshop is targeted at new business owners age 50 and over and those interested in starting a business.
With one in four Americans ages 44 to 70 interested in becoming entrepreneurs, and a large majority planning to work during retirement, small business ownership is a good option. This workshop will provide the knowledge needed to build a strong foundation for when the time comes to start a small business.
Successful entrepreneurs from Uinta County will be on hand to share their experiences and guidance for making a smart transition to being a small business owner. The workshop will also feature information provided by resource partners from AARP, the Wyoming Business Council, the Wyoming Small Business Development Center, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and the Wyoming Women’s Business Center.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and speak individually with the representatives, as well as network with other small business owners and “would be” entrepreneurs. The event will be held on April 23 in the Almy Room of the Uinta County Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A light lunch will be provided courtesy of AARP.
Registration is required. Please call the Evanston Chamber of Commerce at 307-783-0374 to register.
