Get Tech-Savvy at Workshop in April

Gain confidence in using a tablet or smartphone by taking a free workshop sponsored by AARP and AT&T. The AARP TEK (Technology, Education and Knowledge) workshops help people 50-plus get comfortable with using mobile technology to gather information, take photos and stay connected with family and friends.

A TEK workshop will be held in Des Moines on April 14-15. Two-hour sessions in the morning are designed for beginners and in the afternoon for those with intermediate skills. Devices will be provided for classroom use, and snacks will be served.

“When you watch a grandparent text a selfie to a grandchild, you see how transformative mobile technology can be,” said Andrea Brands, AT&T director of consumer safety and education.
