AARP Eye Center
As AARP Driver Safety expands to match growing demand, it is seeking more members to help with all aspects of the volunteer-run program.
Driver Safety refreshes the driving skills of motorists age 50-plus. It covers traffic laws, safety and defensive driving techniques. Drivers who have successfully completed the course may qualify for discounts on their vehicle insurance premiums.
Nearly 1 million drivers age 50-plus in Iowa are eligible to take the course, which is offered statewide and open to drivers of any age.
There is an immediate need for volunteers to teach classes, promote the program and recruit host sites in their communities.
