AARP, in conjunction with Salem State University, the LGBT Aging Project, North Shore Elder Services, Over the Rainbow Coalition, and Care Dimensions, is proud to be a sponsor of the LGBT Elders in an Ever-Changing World fourth annual Conference in Salem, MA, which takes place on Friday, March 20 at Salem State University.
The event is an interdisciplinary practice and policy conference primarily for those who work with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender older adults and caregivers.
The daylong conference includes more than 20 different workshops, which are tailored to older LGBT adults and their caregivers as well as experienced practitioners who work with LGBT adults. There are also workshops that offer an introduction to LGBT aging issues.
A screening of “ Reel in the Closet”—a new film by award-winning documentary filmmaker Stu Maddux—is included along with a post-screening of the film.
The keynote speaker at the event is Robert Espinoza, vice president of policy at Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute (PPI).
