Saco resident, Jean Saunders, is the winner of the 2022 AARP Maine Andrus Award for Community Service. The award is named in honor of AARP’s founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus.

A core tenet of AARP is the belief that volunteer service is one of the most important and valuable contributions a person can make to their community. AARP Maine’s Executive Council is a group of volunteer leaders from Maine’s communities who hold that same core value.
This award comes as recognition for Age-Friendly Saco’s service to their community during the continuing Covid-19 pandemic.
