To help raise awareness about elder abuse and exploitation, AARP Maine is cosponsoring the annual Androscoggin County Elder Abuse Task Force resource fair in Lewiston on June 12.
The event features speakers and booths with information on local resources to protect the elderly from fraud, abuse or neglect. Each year there are more than 14,000 calls to the state’s Adult Protective Services hotline.
The free event includes lunch, and registration is required. To register, go to safevoices.org.
