Michiganders who want to make the transition to encore careers can get practical advice at a free event Oct. 17 in Grand Rapids.
Many of the nation’s more than 76 million boomers have shown an interest in pursuing new endeavors in the second half of life—whether for income, to help others or to pursue a passion.
Cosponsored by AARP Michigan and Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), the event will feature Marci Alboher, an expert in second careers. Participants will get tips that could help with their own transitions.
The event is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 2500 S. Division Ave. For more information or to reserve a seat, call GRCC at 616-234-3400. AARP resources for people exploring an encore career are at lifereimagined.aarp.org.
