Minnesota’s primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 13, and voters should be aware of recent changes to voting processes. Among them:
- Employers must allow employees to leave work, without penalty, to vote in person during the absentee voting period and on primary day.
- Registered voters can request to automatically receive an absentee ballot each year.
- Voters now have until 8 p.m. on primary day to return absentee ballots in person. Previously, the deadline was 3 p.m.
