AARP Minnesota periodically invites movie buffs to free prerelease screenings of films that have won or been nominated for AARP Movies for Grownups Awards.
Thousands of AARP members have gone to Theatres at Mall of America in Bloomington to see movies such as Philomena, 20 Feet From Stardom, The Railway Man, Labor Day and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Typically, the AARP state office sponsors a movie every other month.
