Learn About ADUs, Resources Available

AARP New Hampshire has teamed up with the Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission to offer a presentation on accessory dwelling units—small houses or apartments that exist on the same property as single-family residences.

ADUs can meet the housing needs of older adults and young families alike. To view the session, visit bit.ly/HowtoADU.

Seven percent of New Hampshire residents age 45-plus reported they have an ADU on their property, and nearly half of such residents said they built it to allow an older family member or friend to live with them, according to a 2020 AARP survey.

Looking to make changes to your home to augment your income or to age in place? AARP can help. Visit aarp.org/adu for resources or email nhaarp@aarp.org.
