RetireReady NJ is a new retirement savings program, created by the New Jersey Secure Choice Savings Program Act, a law AARP fought for to ensure you have a brighter and more secure financial future. Workers at all levels of earnings, education, and backgrounds can benefit from the ability to use RetireReady NJ to save for retirement.
The AARP Smart Driver Course is a driving refresher course that features research-based curriculum. The six-hour course is now the nation’s largest driving refresher course designed for drivers age 50.

Monday, December 17th was a great day in Trenton for the 1.1 million family caregivers in the Garden State. AARP New Jersey applauds the passage of Assembly Bill 3514 which establishes a New Jersey Caregiver Task Force that will help determine how to best support family caregivers. With New Jersey’s 65+ population expected to double by 2050, it’s critical that our state has the services and systems in place to support the army of family caregivers who will become even more vital to our health care system as a whole.
Stanley Rosenthal of Manchester, NJ, was named the 2018 recipient of the AARP Andrus Award for Community Service, the non-profit organization’s most prestigious and visible volunteer recognition award. This honor was presented to Rosenthal during AARP’s annual volunteer appreciation event last month in Somerset, NJ, where hundreds of volunteers gathered to celebrate their community-wide efforts across the state.

Is your community a place you would consider age-friendly? An age-friendly community is a place that has safe, walkable streets; age-friendly housing and transportation options; access to needed services; and opportunities for residents of all ages to participate in community life. This year several New Jersey communities took on the challenge of incorporating Age-Friendly initiatives into their community plans and joined the AARP Network of Age Friendly Communities.
As data breach incidents proliferate, a new AARP survey finds that an alarming number of New Jersey residents have failed to take the basic precautions against identity theft. In response, AARP New Jersey and the AARP Fraud Watch Network launched a campaign to raise awareness of identity theft risks and educate consumers on how to enhance the safety of their personal information.
AARP New Jersey is putting more green space in the Garden State. To advance its livable-community goals, AARP gave grants to two Community Challenge projects in New Jersey.
