This June, AARP proudly celebrates Black Music Month—a time to recognize and applaud the rich impact of African American music on our country’s history. Over the centuries, Black music has evolved and triumphed, not only shaping America’s traditions but also preserving the experiences and culture of the Black community. From joy and success to pain and perseverance, Black artists continue to create emotional content with palpable lyrics and rhythms that unite and inspire millions.

We’re writing with an important message to let you know that we have canceled our external events until further notice. While convening events is a core part of our mission, we have changed our approach in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Our volunteers work within Garden State communities to empower people 50 and older to choose how they live as they age. Volunteers strengthen our communities and focus on issues important to New Jersey residents like health security, financial stability and personal fulfillment.

AARP New Jersey is putting more green space in the Garden State. To advance its livable-community goals, AARP gave grants to two Community Challenge projects in New Jersey.

Join AARP New Jersey for a day of science and fun for the whole family. Stop by the AARP table at the Liberty Science Center on Thursday, November 15 or Sunday, November 18 from 10:00am - 4:00pm and find out more about what AARP is doing in your community. AARP members and guests will receive a discounted admission rate of $13.50 per ticket (up to 6 tickets per purchaser) which includes a planetarium show.
